Cleansing masks

Cleansing masks are used for deep cleansing. The best cleansing masks are the ones that have a clay or earth base. Allow these masks to dry on your skin and wash off with lukewarm water. For out1 skin: add one teaspoon of lemon juice for dry skin: add one teaspoon of honey to the paste. For combination skin: make two portions of the paste, one with lemon juice for the T panel and the other with honey for the rest of the face.

Turmeric cleansing mask

Ingredients: 2 teaspoon of turmeric powder ‘2 tablespoon of lemon juice. Method: Combine both to make a paste. Application: Apply over face. Wash off after ten to fifteen minutes.

Oatmeal Mask

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon oatmeal . 1 egg yolk milk
Method: Mix oatmeal with enough milk to make a paste. Beat the egg yolk and blend it with the oatmeal paste. Leave it on the skin for fifteen minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. The egg yolk softens the skin and oatmeal helps to cleanse and nourish the skin. For dry skin, you may add a teaspoon of honey and for greasy skin, a teaspoon of lemon juice. Alternatively instead of egg yolk you may use a teaspoon of dissolved gelatin to the oatmeal paste.

Cleansing mask

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon oatmeal I table spoon cucumber juice. Method: Mix together and make a smooth paste. Apply over face and allow drying for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

Kaolin mask

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons kaolin 2 tablespoons cucumber juice Method: Combine both ingredients and apply over face and neck. Wash it off 10-15 minutes depending on your skin type.

Fuller’s Earth Mask

Ingredients: 2 tablespoon crushed Fuller’s Earth 3 tablespoon milk. Method: Mix the ingredients into a paste and apply over the face and neck. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off.

Cleansing mask for oily skin

Ingredients: 1/4 cup oatmeal (finely powdered) ‘2 cup of yoghurt 2 teaspoon of lemon juice. Method: Stir the oatmeal into the yoghurt, chill it. Application: Apply to face and neck. Leave on for half an hour. Rinse off with tepid water into which the lemon juice has been added.

Cleansing mask for dry skin

Ingredients: ‘2 teaspoon of Brewer’s yeast
1 tablespoon honey ‘2 teaspoon cider vinegar 2 tablespoon sour cream
2 egg yolks Milk Method: Combine all the ingredients and mix well Application: Spread a thin’ film of olive oil or sesame oil over face and then apply this mask on it. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with milk and water. Cleansing mask Ingredients: 15 grams bees wax 100 grams lanolin 50 grams of Fuller’s Earth. 250 ml of rose water

Method: Melt wax and oil by using the double boiling method. Add rose water and stir in Fuller’s Earth. Mix until there are no lumps. Store in an air tight container and use as and when required.
